Day 2 ALP facilitators training on life skills

The ALP (Accelerated Learning Program) Facilitators Training on Life Skills, held on Day 2 in Alsalam and Aljabalain sites in September 2024, was an intensive and practical session aimed at empowering facilitators with the tools to nurture critical life skills among learners in their communities. This training built on the foundation of psychosocial support by addressing the broader psychological and social impacts of life challenges and equipping facilitators to help students develop resilience, adaptability, and essential skills for personal growth. The session emphasized topics such as communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict resolution, focusing on fostering emotional intelligence and self-awareness in young learners. Facilitators were trained to integrate life skills education into their teaching practices, creating safe, inclusive spaces where students can build their confidence, learn to manage stress, and interact positively with peers and their communities.

The training also highlighted the importance of tailoring life skills education to the specific needs of learners in conflict-affected areas like Alsalam and Aljabalain. Through engaging activities and collaborative discussions, facilitators explored methods to address the unique challenges faced by students, including those arising from displacement, social instability, and limited access to resources. By equipping learners with the tools to navigate their circumstances and take active roles in shaping their futures, the program seeks to instill a sense of hope and empowerment. This transformative initiative underscores the critical role of life skills education in fostering not only academic success but also the emotional and social development of young people, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to their families and communities.
