Water and Sanitation

Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) is a core area of intervention for TDO across the Darfur States. In partnership with key organizations such as UNICEF, WFP, TGH, and Solidarités International, TDO works to improve access to safe, clean drinking water for both people and livestock in remote and underserved communities. This is achieved through the construction, upgrading, and rehabilitation of water points tailored to local needs.
Alongside infrastructure development, TDO actively promotes hygiene education and implements Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) approaches, empowering communities to adopt sustainable sanitation practices. These combined efforts have benefited over 210,000 people, ensuring that rural and crisis-affected populations enjoy reliable access to safe water and improved sanitation, contributing to better health, dignity, and resilience.
